Read more on our blog.

Where do we check in to get our dancer’s numbers?

From the #SRO2017 syllabus: Dancers must report to the stage manager at least 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start time for their competition to collect their competition number. Numbers of the starting competitors for each round will be drawn prior to the competition. Dancers must follow the rotation as listed in the official program book. Once the first dancer has commenced, late arrivals will be disqualified and will not be permitted to dance. If a dancer misses his/her rotation in the second round, he/she will not be permitted to dance, will receive zero for that round, and cannot be recalled to the third round. If a dancer misses his/her rotation in the third round, he/she will not be permitted to dance, and he/she will not be eligible to be recognized in the awards, except as a recalled dancer.

How will awards work on two stages?  Will I miss seeing some of the awards?

No, you won’t miss any awards! While competitions will be awarded on either stage 3 or stage 4, BOTH stages are located next to each other and will be visible from your seats. As we have in the past, we’ll open the ballroom’s air wall to reveal multiple stages, but new this year, dancers will report to one of two assigned stages for awards. The assignments are listed in the program on the schedule page. As awards are announced, we will alternate between stages 3 and 4. We hope this speeds up the ceremonies just a bit — as we can move from one announcement to the other without having to wait for the stage to clear.

Are there practice rooms?

The Pavilion at the Bonnet Creek is the practice room at that location. It is available from 4 – 9 p.m. on Thursday, 7 a.m. – 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 7 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Sunday.  (Note:  A/C will be turned on in the Pavilion at 5 p.m. on Thursday afternoon.)

There are two practice rooms available at the Wyndham, Expedition and Journey, however, the SRO Committee will not be building stages there.

No individual dancer or school is permitted to take over the space at any time.
