It is with heavy hearts that we share that Una Ellis, the first elected regional director of the IDTANA-Southern Region and a great lady, has passed away. Una’s leadership laid the groundwork for the wonderful region we have today, and we are all forever indebted to her.
Una was born in Ireland and emigrated to the United States. She was one of the founding members of the IDTANA when she lived in the Eastern Region. She served on the board in MidAmerica when she lived in Cleveland. And she was instrumental in the growth of Southern Region when she moved south. Her impact on Irish dancing in North America was great.
She is survived by her husband, Jack, her son, John, and her grandchildren. She is predeceased by her daughter, Kathleen, and son, Brian.
